Bada Valley is one of the three valley areas located in the Lore Plateau, Poso Regency, Central Sulawesi Province. The sites in the Lore Highlands area are full of megalithic remains. However, research to date in the Bada Valley has revealed burial practices similar to those documented in other parts of Southeast Asia, namely the discovery of jar burials. These jar burials are found not far from megalithic sites, and many are found inside megalithic sites. From the results of the study, several variations in the shape of the jars are found, as well as the method of placement and the number of human individuals buried. Genetics, and dating show that these burial practices are observed over a large geographical area, and they suspected to have close relationships, especially with other Sulawesi regions, and across Southeast Asia more generally.
