Sa Huynh culture played a decisive role in the formation of Champa culture in Central Vietnam. Around the beginning of the Common Era, along with the spreading influence of Indianization across Southeast Asian countries, the previously indigenous Sa Huynh culture underwent transformations that gradually formed the subsequent Champa culture. This paper presents correlations in space and time and examines shifts in socio‑economic life in the region to illustrate the transition process between these two cultures, including spatial coincidence and continuity of formation time, traces of continuity at selected archaeological sites, and continuity alongside transformation in socio‑economic aspects.
