Grave Goods From the Late Prehistoric and Proto-Historic Burials at Sab Champa, Lopburi, Central Thailand

Department of Archaeology, Faculty of Archaeology, Silpakorn University, Thailand

A number of late prehistoric and proto-historic burials have been unearthed at the Sab Champa archaeological site in Lopburi province, central Thailand. Though most of the human remains are not well preserved, the artefacts and ecofacts associated with those burials as grave goods can be studied. This paper focuses on the results of preliminary analyses of grave goods, providing insights into mortuary practices and traditions in the late prehistoric and proto-historic periods in central Thailand in particular, and in mainland Southeast Asia in general.
